Raphael Ng

Resides and works in Dresden, Germany

Raphael Ng is a Singaporean multidisciplinary artist trained in painting at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, and based in Dresden, Germany. His conceptually driven practice uses installation as a site-responsive apparatus to explore social and political tensions such as artistic freedom, censorship, inequality, and human development. Alongside this, he maintains a separate performative drawing practice translating music into gestural charcoal, pastels and ink works concerned with gestural presence and the immediacy of the sublime over resolved formal beauty.
